About La Bodeguita De La Gente, Inc.

La Bodeguita De La Gente was founded by Xiomy De La Cruz and Ingmar Riveros in March 2020 during the pandemic to provide basic human needs to the fast growing immigrant community in Hartford, CT.  They started to work out of their home living room, serving over 450 families, many of whom were ineligible for assistance due to immigration status.

Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, La Bodeguita De La Gente’s mission is to advocate for the fundamental rights and inclusion of all families.  We provide support and education to families in need, predominantly the immigrant community in the city of Hartford, CT, so that they are better positioned for a brighter future. 

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
